University of Lebanon – Swift Grow Germination Rate Trial

Lebanese University – Faculty of Sciences 2 – Jdeidet, Lebanon

In 2020 the university of Lebanon undertook an independent controlled trial of Swift Grow aiming to verify the efficacy of the fertilizer in seed to seedling germination rate and root size.

These experiments were done in the Life and Earth Science department of the faculty, Plant Physiology laboratory.

Increased Germination Rate

The germination rate with one-off application of Swift Grow (dilution 20ml/9 L water) was:

  • 17.7 % increase in case of lettuce seeds
  • 5.6 % increase in case of radish seeds
  • No difference for barley seeds

Efficient Root Size

Root growth was reduced in the presence of Swift Grow (as below) Indicating sufficient
nutrients in the soil

  • 20.8 % for lettuce seeds
  • 52.83 % for radish seeds
  • 44.1 % for barley seeds

REASON FOR REDUCED ROOT SIZE

Suggested Answer by microbiologist Joseph Ayoub:
The plant that receives all its nutrients from Swift Grow does not invest energy in extending its roots out looking for nutrients, rather invests in growing the rest of the plant.
